Full course description

The Qualified Water-Efficient Landscaper educational program consists of 12 lecture modules, a hands-on experience conducting a water audit, and a certification exam. The curriculum covers a wealth of water conservation topics including water sources, landscape irrigation, plant materials, soils, and more. The focus is on the whole landscape rather than just on landscape irrigation. The overall goal is installing and maintaining highly effective and enjoyable landscapes while using less water. The online modules offer a starting point to the QWEL program by covering several lectures. However, participants wanting certification will need to attend additional lectures, and complete the irrigation audit and exam in person.
