Utah Master Naturalist, in partnership in Utah State Parks, the Consortium for Dark Sky Studies, and Cedar Breaks National Monument, offers this self-paced online course. Participants from Utah and beyond are invited to expand their knowledge and stewardship of Utah’s spectacular night sky. During the course, participants will explore a variety of introductory topics about Utah’s dark skies, including celestial bodies and movements, our solar system, stars, constellations, and dark sky ecology and protection. Participants who complete this course and one Utah Master Naturalist Dark Sky Observations or Master Astronomer Program field course will certify as a Utah Master Naturalist Dark Sky Naturalist. Certification demonstrates that participants have the essential scientific knowledge and skills to have a positive impact on Utah’s dark skies and to share their knowledge within their community.
